Additionally, home visiting programs may have a positive impact on the other Maryland results: Healthy Children, Children Successful in School, Children Completing School, Stable & Economically Independent Families and Communities Which Support Family Life. Home visiting programs: Are locally driven and designed, and operate within a statewide framework Are collaborative with diverse public and private partners to reach target population (s) and to ensure that families receive needed and appropriate services Are research-based to systemically improve both child and family health, development and functioning Offer services voluntarily in a culturally competent manner May vary in length and intensity of services depending on the family s needs JPPP% FINAL HOME VISITING STANDARDS 0 &$ nProgram has community partnerships in place to identify the families in the target population. Program has a system for assuring appropriate staff training, meeting the minimum standards established by the Maryland Home Visiting Consortium, for orientation, core competencies, and on-going training. Program has a nationally recognized child/family curriculum and/or guidelines that structure services to provide age appropriate child anticipatory guidance, including social-emotional health, with a focus on supporting the caregiver in the role as the child s first teacher. Program ensures that the home visiting staff receives individual supervision and support on a regular basis and at least an annual formal performance review. Program ensures that at a minimum, monthly face-to-face contact and/or home visits are conducted with defined criteria for increasing and decreasing the intensity and frequency of services based on the family s need.nZ. FINAL HOME VISITING STANDARDS &$$ 5. Program services are guided by a plan and the process of developing the plan includes family and home visitor collaboration to identify family goals, strengths, and necessary services and supports. The home visitor refers and links to available resources and follows-up with all referrals to ensure that services are being received. The plan is culturally competent and reflects the family s interests and goals. Based on this plan 6. Home visitor services support parents/caregivers to lay the foundation for reading, and address the other identified domains of early learning and development and school readiness. 7. Home visitor monitors child development using a standardized developmental screen at specified intervals. Based on family and home visitor identified goals, home visitor refers and/or links to available resources and follows-up with all referrals to ensure that services are being received. 8. Based on family and home visitor identified goals, home visitor provides parent education in child health and safety. Home visitor monitors and documents prenatal and well-child visits including immunization and lead screening status. Home visitor links families to available resources and follows-up with all referrals to ensure that services are being received. 9. Home visitor plans with the family / caregiver to transition the family / child to a quality early care and/or education program.P & r$$((,,8;Training, TA/QA Committee Key Activities & Accomplishments<!Coordinated the first Maryland Home Visiting Conference Reviewing and discussing currently offered home visitor training requirements Reviewing and discussing what home visitor training was currently offered 9=Finance, Grants & Resources Key Activities & Accomplishments8>&& Submitted the State Innovation Grant Obtained funding for Maryland Early Childhood Community Connections Initiative Obtained funding and keynote speakers for the first Maryland Home Visiting ConferenceZ@ 0` 3333ff3` 3333f33ff3` "3333̙ff3` Kf3̙` &e̙3g3f` f333̙po7` ___f3̙;/f9` ff3Lm` ff3LmNLm>?" dd@*?nAd@q<nAqFLK#M n?" dd@ @@``PR M`2p>>N0 JB( H? ?" `}<$ 0 T Click to edit Master title style! !h H? ?" `<$ 0 RClick to edit Master text styles Second level Third level Fourth level Fifth level!
