Required Training for Family Support Network Staff
ALL STAFF (training required for all staff as indicated and recommended for any other staff) · All full-time (30+ hours per week) staff will complete the 4-5 day Family Support Network Orientation, including 10 Core Competency sessions and Special Focus Sessions (for some positions) within 6 months of hire. · All staff who work 15+ hours per week will complete annual training or have current certification in ü CPR ü First Aid ü Universal Precautions ü Child Abuse and Neglect · All staff who transport participants, under insurance provided by the Center or Sponsoring Agency, will complete basic car seat safety training within 12 months of hire and at least every 5 years thereafter. CHILD DEVELOPMENT STAFF
· All child development staff (full- and part-time) must complete annual training or have current certification in ü CPR ü First Aid ü Universal Precautions ü Child Abuse and Neglect · All full-time child development staff will complete the following within 6 months of hire: ü Caring for Infants and Toddlers in our FSC/EHS Center (Special Focus Session, Day 5 of Orientation) ü Early Childhood Best Practices (ECBP) – 18 hours (ECBP includes Understanding and Using the ASQ and Early Childhood Observations) · And the following within 1 year of hire: ü Language Development and Literacy in Young Children – 1.5 - 2 hours ü Children’s Mental Health – 1.5 - 2 hours · CD Specialists only: Supervision of the Child Development Program – 3.5 - 6 hours DIRECTORS
· All Directors will complete the following within 6 months of hire: ü Managing a Family Support/Early · And the following within 1 year of hire: ü Early Childhood Best Practices Overview – 1.5 - 2 hours HOME VISITORS
· All home visitors will complete the following within 6 months of hire: ü Adult Mental Health: Signs, Symptoms and Procedures - 1.5 - 2 hours (Day 5 of Orientation) ü The Art of Service Coordination – 1.5 hours (Day 5 of Orientation) ü Goals and Documentation – 1.5 hours (Day 5 of Orientation) · And the following within 1 year of hire: ü Early Childhood Observations – 1.5 hours (participate in day 2 of ECBP) ü Understanding and Using the ASQ – 1.5 hours (participate in day 2 of ECBP) ü Language Development and Literacy in Young Children – 1.5 - 2 hours ü Children’s Mental Health – 1.5 - 2 hours SERVICE COORDINATORS
· All service coordinators will complete the following within 6 months of hire: ü Adult Mental Health: Signs, Symptoms and Procedures – 1.5 - 2 hours (Day 5 of Orientation) ü The Art of Service Coordination – 1.5 hours (Day 5 of Orientation) ü Goals and Documentation – 1.5 hours (Day 5 of Orientation) DATA ENTRY STAFF
· Staff doing data entry will complete the following within 1 year of hire: ü FOF-MIS Data Entry – 6 hours ü FOF-MIS Reports – 6 hours ü Additionally, each Center doing data entry must have 3 staff trained in the most up-to-date version of FOF-MIS at all times. ADULT EDUCATORS
· Adult Educators will have documented (to be monitored by PC) completion of: ü PLATO ü Contextual Learning ü Running a Classroom ü Documentation (including Literacy Works) ü Working with Learning Disabled Students VAN/BUS DRIVERS
· All van drivers will complete annual training or have current certification (to be monitored by PC) in: ü CPR ü First Aid ü Universal Precautions ü Child Abuse and Neglect ü Car Seat Safety - The Basic Course (every 2 years) ü Child Safety Seat Installation (every 2 years) * Staff whose position includes the duties of more than one job category need to complete requirements for both ** Part-time staff attending a training activity will participate in those workshops which are required for their position |
