Family Support Network Schedule of Staff Development Activities
October, 2009
October 9: Home Visitors Continuous Quality Improvement will be held at Friends of the Family from 9:30 - 12:00. All Family Support Network home visitors are required to attend. For more information, please contact Nancy Corcoran at 410 659-7701, extension 116. October 21 - 23: Early Childhood Best Practices will be held at Friends of the Family from 9:30 - 4:00. Full-time (those who work 30+ hours per week) Family Support Network child development staff hired since July, 2002 who have not completed this training program should attend. In addition, all home visitors hired since July 2002 who have not completed an FOF-sponsored training on the Ages and Stages Questionnaire and on Early Childhood Observations should attend the second day only, October 22. November, 2009 November 5: Family Support Center MIS Training will be held at New Horizons Computer Learning Center. Network Family Support Center data entry staff and any other Network Family Support Center staff involved in data management should attend. Questions about who should attend can be directed to the MIS Coordinator. For information about this training, please contact Steve Gollegly at 410 659-7701, extension 127. November 6: Early Head Start MIS Training will be held at New Horizons Computer Learning Center. Network Early Head Start data entry staff and any other network Early Head Start staff involved in data management should attend. Questions about who should attend can be directed to the MIS Coordinator. For information about this training, please contact Steve Gollegly at 410 659-7701, extension 127. November 20: Family Support Network Staff Development Conference. The Conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Timonium from 9: 30 - 3:30. The Conference theme is on Thoughtful Spacing of Pregnancies, and opportunities for learning, discussion and planning will be included. Full-time staff should plan to attend; part-time staff are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Gail Guillard at 410 659-7701, extension 125. December, 2009 December 4: Training on the Ages and Stages Questionnaire: Social-Emotional Scale (ASQ-SE) will be held at Friends of the Family (time to be announced). Early Head Start and Family Support Center staff who will be administering the ASQ-SE and who have not completed this training should plan to attend. January, 2010 January 8: Continuous Quality Improvement session for all Network service coordinators will be held at Friends of the Family from 9:30 - 3:00. For information about the content of this training, please contact Melanie Martin at 410 659-7701, extension 113. January 13: Continuous Quality Improvement training and networking for all Network child development specialists will be held at Friends of the Family from 9:30 - 3:00. For more information, please contact Carolyn Payne Tighe at 410 659-7701, extension 115. January 15: Continuous Quality Improvement session for all Network home visitors will be held at Friends of the Family from 9:30 - 12:00. February, 2010 February 23 - 23: Family Support Network Directors' Conference will be held at Pier 5 Hotel in Baltimore from 9:00 - 4:00 each day. The Directors' Conference is an opportunity for Network directors to come together and participate in management and leadership building sessions, as well as to share ideas and practices which have been effective in their programs. March, 2010 March 5: Continuous Quality Improvement session for all Network home visitors will be held at Friends of the Family from 9:30 - 12:00. Please contact Nancy Gardner Corcoran for more information, at 410 569-7701, extension 116. March 14 – 18: Family Support Network Orientation will be held at Friends of the Family. All full-time (those who work 30+ hours per week) network staff hired since July, 2002 who have not completed the Orientation are required to attend; part-time staff are encouraged to attend. The next Family Support Network Orientation will be held in the fall of 2010. For information about the Family Support network Orientation, contact Gail Guillard at 410 659-7701, extension 125. March 25: Early Head Start Center MIS Training will be held at New Horizons Computer Learning Center. Center data entry staff and any other Network Early Head Start Center staff involved in data management should attend. Questions about who should attend can be directed to the MIS Coordinator. For information about this training, please contact Steve Gollegly at 410 659-7701, extension 127. March 26: Family Support Center MIS Training will be held at New Horizons Computer Learning Center. Network Family Support Center data entry staff and any other network Family Support Center staff involved in data management should attend. April, 2010 May, 2010 May 6 – 7: Family Support Network Spring Training and Staff Development Conference. The Conference is an exciting opportunity for Center staff to get together with their colleagues throughout Maryland for two days of learning and sharing together! The conference will be held at in the Baltimore area. General sessions, networking opportunities, and workshops on a variety of topics will be provided throughout the two days. All full-time Network staff are required to attend, and part-time staff are encouraged to attend this event.
